| The scaling factor adapts the position measurement
system employed to the desired distance unit to be used when entering positions,
velocities and accelerations.
|
| |
| Distances und positions |
| The scaling factor indicates the amount of distance covered per measuring step (increment).
All necessary conversions between the entry, the stored value and the output will be performed
by SYSTEM-90E automatically. |
| |
| Velocities and accelerations |
| The scaling factor is a function of both velocities and accelerations. This postulates
a logical relation in accordance with the laws of physics: thus, a velocity of
v = 0.3 m/s and an
acceleration of a = 2.0 m/s² yield an acceleration time of
150 ms (t = v/a).
